We have heard from Boston. He actually joined the Mavericks forum and posted. Says he's located the former admin for the FSW forum, and expects to have it back on line soon...

I'm afraid it's too little, too late. The FSW forum was nearly dead in the water since this June, and not really active before that for quite some time.

But we'll see what happens. In any case, the Mavericks are here to stay. :)

It's ALIVE... sigh

The FSW forum is back up. No new member accounts can be created just now...

Seems it was taken down by the host company because it got hacked and someone was sending out a jillion spam messages from it. The software had not been upgraded in ages, and NOBODY was doing anything to really monitor or maintain it at the tech level for many years, so this is not a surprise.

I hope Boston gets it fixed. He says he's got a new admin for it. I wish him well, and I will probably visit occasionally, but I doubt it will ever be the same. What a waste.  In any case, I don't think the Mavericks are going away.

I wonder if that happened around the same time that survivalblog was shut down for a few days? Same people responsible, maybe?

Yep, seems to be. I don't look at it very often anymore. Don't know who's footing the bills there now, but I have expected it to fold for a long time.

I was just there and it is working fine! the security certificate was expired recently but seems to be working now.
